Another game. Another VAR farce. Another weak-willed referee taking instruction from one of his fellow officials, looking for a reason to disallow a perfectly good goal.

Antoine Semenyo was wheeling away, celebrating his third Manchester City goal, and his second of the night against Newcastle United.

The winger had brilliantly flicked home from an inswinging corner, and on-field referee Chris Kavanagh had seemingly found no issue with it. Because, simply put, there was no issue with it.

That was, until, VAR Stuart Attwell elected to get involved.
