Let’s not look to rewrite history about Euro 2024. England’s campaign looked like it was never going to get going, and there was a serious concern that they might just not click into gear.

But on Wednesday in Dortmund, their performance against the Netherlands was one of a team that weren’t just unified, and had more than just personality. They had quality. They had a plan. They were brave.
