Eras
They all come to an end.
The 2025-26 season is nearly over.
On Saturday, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will bring the curtain down on the campaign in Budapest, with the Champions League up for grabs.
Then, focus will switch to the World Cup.
But the culmination of this season is bringing with it the end of some significant spells.
PEP GUARDIOLA
We can’t start with anyone else.
Pep Guardiola is leaving Manchester City having established himself as the greatest manager of all time, at least in my eyes, and the eyes of many others.
Ten years; 20 trophies. Four Premier League titles in a row; a treble, and some of the best football to ever grace the game.
Guardiola bows out as an icon not only for Man City, but English football. Whatever he does next, he will be backed by millions.
SEAMUS COLEMAN
Seventeen years is a long time in life, never mind football. But 17 years is how long Seamus Coleman spent at Everton.
The veteran full-back, who cost just £60,000 back in 2009, is now leaving the Toffees. It seems as though he will be trying to prolong his playing career, seemingly in the hope of playing a part for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2028 on home soil.
Coleman leaves Everton as their record appearance-maker in the Premier League, and in the top 10 for the club's all-time for games played. At his peak, he was one of the Premier League’s finest full-backs. All he lacked, was a trophy.
ANDY ROBERTSON
Andy Robertson showed his class when, after Liverpool’s season-ending draw, he paid tribute not only to Guardiola, but also Coleman, two stalwarts of rival clubs.
